Cypress presented New Product Showcase Award at ISC West 2015
LAS VEGAS, NV – Cypress Integration Solutions of Michigan was named winner of the New Product Showcase: Best in Access Control Devices & Peripherals award. The award was presented during a ceremony at ISC West 2015, held in April in Las Vegas.
Cypress earned the award for the company's new OSMIUM OSM-1000 device, which converts legacy access control equipment to the new OSDP security communication standard.
"We are honored to receive the New Product Showcase award, and pleased that the judges recognized the importance of both the need for switching to the new OSDP standard, and a product that makes the migration easy for those who aren't ready to replace all their legacy system equipment," said Tony Diodato, Chief Technology Officer for Cypress.
The OSMIUM OSM-1000 is the first in a family of products specifically designed to allow legacy card access panels and readers to interface with the Security Industry Association's Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP). Wiegand, Serial, Strobed, ABA, Barcode and other widely used interfaces and formats are repackaged into an equivalent OSDP packet structure. The OSM-1000 can be field-configured as a reader-side or panel-side device.
Since 1983, Cypress has remained a recognized leader in the design and manufacture of electronic security solutions and technologies. Currently available solutions include data format converters, mobile credential readers, wireless Wiegand extenders, and fiber and wired Wiegand reader extenders which are used worldwide to solve unique design and installation challenges.
