Smith & Wesson Security Solutions’™ retractable electric bollards are designed to immobilize and destroy the front suspension system, steering linkage, engine crank case and portions of the drive train of vehicles weighing up to 15,000 pounds, traveling at speeds up to 50 mph. This barrier is crash tested and meets the M50 ASTM specification.

The barrier’s vault assembly is hot dipped galvanized and requires a foundation depth of five feet. The unit that rises to an above ground position is constructed of reinforced tubular steel and is powder coated, providing you with a variety of available colors. The internal mechanical structure, designed as an insert assembly, is hot dipped galvanized for corrosion protection.

Maintenance and repair is made easy with removable nonskid roadway plates secured by tamper-proof flush bolts, which provide access to the maintenance and service points of the barrier without the use of heavy equipment. If necessary, the entire mechanical structure can be lifted out of the foundation for any major repairs or maintenance.

All major components, including the actuator and the control and logic modules, are housed in a weather-resistant cabinet designed to withstand the anticipated environmental conditions of your installation site.
