ASL Video Smoke and Flame Detection
Available from ASL Vision
The ASL Vision’s Video Smoke and Flame Detection is an intelligent, compact, single channel IP video encoder, used to analyse the video content of a camera input for the presence of fire or smoke.
Using sophisticated, reliable algorithms it can detect smoke or flame at the early stages of a potential incident, alerting the operator before serious damage occurs, saving money and even lives.
With the ASL’s VSFD solution, cameras can now not only be used for general video surveillance but also for safety purposes. The VSFD provides additional value to the end-user. The ASL’s intelligent video encoder can be retro-fitted to existing infrastructure or added to new systems.
ASL’s VSFD overcome issues usually encountered with conventional smoke detection systems. It is an ideal solution to protect large, high ceiling open spaces such as warehouses, power/petrochemical plants, hangars, machine shops, tunnels, waste/recycling sites…as well as for outdoor use (national parks, forests, etc…). As soon as the smoke/flame is seen within the camera’s field of view, an alert is sent to the operator.
On activation, it alerts the operator with the use of volt-free contacts in conjunction with real time visual representation of what the camera is ‘seeing’. This allows the user to determine the location, size and state of the incident and make the correct decision on what course of action is to be taken.
